We had a very successful World Oceans Day this year with families from Stonehouse joining us for a BBQ at Firestone Bay. We were very fortunate to have two amazing chefs from City College Plymouth who gave their time and skills to the event free of charge!

There were lots of exciting things to do on the shore with beach rangers from The Marine Biological Association, National Marine Aquarium, The Shark Trust, The Devon Wildlife Trust, the Marine Conservation Society and Mariana Lopez from The OceanCorner. Mariana invited the children to attach the plastic items they brought from home to her reclaimed fishing net, with each child attaching their very own message to the ocean on how they will play their part in looking after it!

We were even part of a live feed into the local ITV news. See the link for more.
