Millfields Inspired is a charity committed to creating sustainable change for young people in Plymouth, particularly in areas of social deprivation. Partnering with local businesses, Millfields Inspired works with local primary schools to provide opportunities for students to sample different workplaces and jobs, aiming to widen their understanding of what jobs might be available to them and their confidence to follow these ambitions. Millfields Inspired responds to the community it is imbedded in, identifying needs and setting up initiatives to support them.
Working together to help communities
Millfields Community Economic Development Trust CIC and Millfields Inspired are independent organisations. However their shared history leads to a strong relationship that is explicitly reflected in each of their governing documents.
Together we wish to see our children achieve their potential; to support local businesses to succeed; to work with our local community to improve the local natural and built environment; and to play our part in ensuring that Stonehouse is a vibrant place which people are proud of. We need your help, whether that is through fundraising, donations or becoming a partner.
“Working with Millfields Inspired to deliver the Widening Horizons programme and outreach to local students is an incredible opportunity. We get to offer an insight into world of engineering and highlight the diverse opportunities available to everyone in STEM”

“The Widening Horizons programme is a wonderful initiative that we’re really proud to have been working with for many years. Our goal at the Ocean Conservation Trust is to Connect everyone to the Ocean through knowledge, experiences and understanding. We run the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, and it has been our pleasure and privilege to host hundreds of young people through Widening Horizons to see and experience, first hand, everything we do to drive our mission forward”
